Blackmore then took Dio, and Micky Lee Soule (keyboard), Craig Gruber (bass), and Gary Driscoll (drummer), all former Elf staff, to form Rainbow. According to the title of their debut album, at first, Rainbow itself was nothing but a solo project by Ritchie Blackmore, after leaving Deep Purple due to differences in vision. Including of course the phenomenal song, "The Temple of King". Besides "Man on the Silver Mountain," songs like "Catch the Rainbow," "Black Sheep of the Family," and "Sixteenth Century Greensleeves," also caught the attention of rock fans at that time.
